A terrific addition to the peaceful community tank. These shy ones are best kept in groups and it still may take some time for them to feel comfortable in the open. Provide with plenty of rockwork and coral for them to dart in and out of, along with a finer substrate bottom for them to burrow in at night. |

The Zebra Bar Goby (Ptereleotris zebra) is sometimes called a Zebra Dart Goby, a Chinese Zebra Goby, a Barred Dartfish, or a Zebra Dartfish. It belongs to the family named Microdesmidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 3.9 inches in length, the Zebra Bar Goby is passive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the upper tank area. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Ptereleotris zebra should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places, a deep substrate, and keep 3 or more.
