notes
This is one of the smallest of the wrasses. It is one of the most secretive wrasses as well. It will spend most of its time in holes and moving within crevices. They will become more bold after the acclimate if they do not get harrased by tankmates. This could prove problematic in a non-peaceful tank as this species seems to get a brunt of any aggression that may exist.
overview

The Yellowbanded Possum Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia) is sometimes called a Yellowbanded Pygmy Wrasse or a Yellowbanded Sharpnose Wrasse. It belongs to the family named Labridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 3.0 inches in length, the Yellowbanded Possum Wrasse is generally passive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Pseudocheilinus hexataenia should not be housed in a tank less than 20 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places.
