notes
A beautiful specimen that is best appreciated in small groups. Because they tend to spend most of the time out on a perch, house with less aggressive species that will not nip at their leaf-like body.
overview

The Yellow Leaf Scorpionfish (Taenianotus triacanthus) is sometimes called a Leaf Scorpionfish or a Paper Fish. It belongs to the family named Scorpaenidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 4.0 inches in length, the Yellow Leaf Scorpionfish is semi-aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the evening hours or at night and less so during the day, and will hang out or do best in the lower tank area. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Taenianotus triacanthus should not be housed in a tank less than 20 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra substrate area, a fine substrate, and a stable cave/sheltering ledge.
