notes
The small, beady white eyes of this eel makes it a unique standout of the Gymnothorax genus. As with most eels, it will eat most anything that it can fit into its mouth. If combining with other Morays, always check compatability and generally only mix eels of the same size together.
overview

The White-eye Moray's scientific name is Gymnothorax thyrsoidea. Typically reaching a max size of about 26.0 inches in length, the White-eye Moray is aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the lower tank area. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Gymnothorax thyrsoidea should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra swimming area and a stable cave/sheltering ledge.
