notes
A terrific looking creature that unfortunatly has no place in the home aquarium. These slugs prey on and make home in the Hymeniacidon species of poisonous sponges in the wild. It is said they recieve their toxicity from the sponges poison and then use it as their own defense. Since this is also their only food, they will starve to death in captivity.
overview

The Warty Sea Slug (Phyllidia varicosa) is sometimes called a Scrambled Egg Sea Slug. It belongs to the family named Phyllidiidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 3.6 inches in length, the Warty Sea Slug is passive in nature and risky in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the rock structures. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include a well established aquarium, high water quality, and a species only tank.
