A terrific wrasse at all ages. Coris Wrasses are famous for color transformations as they age, this one is no exception. Juvenilles start as white with two orange/black eye spots along their dorsal fin. Adults will transform into a half light and half dark specimen, and again change to a full green with white bands. They prefer a fine substrate, since they bury when threatened. |

The Twin Spot Coris Wrasse (Coris aygula) is sometimes called a Clown Coris or a Two Spot Coris. It belongs to the family named Labridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 23.9 inches in length, the Twin Spot Coris Wrasse is generally passive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported. External sexual differences are limited to the fact that males are typically larger than females. Coris aygula should not be housed in a tank less than 140 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra swimming area, a fine substrate, and a deep substrate.
