notes
Depending on the species of Sarcophyton, it is typically a very hardy coral. There are many different species of Sarcophyton Corals, and what has been discovered is the more coloration this Coral has, the more difficult it is to maintain. But if cared for correctly, these can really grow quickly. Just provide them with the proper lighting, added supplements and room to "stretch".
overview

The Toadstool Umbrella Leather (Sarcophyton glaucum) is sometimes called an Umbrella Leather Coral, a Toadstool Mushroom Leather Coral, a Leather Coral, a Toadstool Leather Coral, a Sarcophyton Coral, or a Trough Coral. It belongs to the family named Alcyoniidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 10 inches in diameter, and 12 inches in height, the Toadstool Umbrella Leather is passive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Sarcophyton glaucum in general should have standard (3 watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include high water quality, a strong water current, a moderate water current, a fluctuating water current, and rockwork structure.
