A fairly common anemone in the trade. As with other anemones, the Sebae needs good water conditions, strong light and regular feedings if a Clownfish is not present. There are quite a few Clownfish that will associate with this one, most commonly the Sebae, Clarkii and the Bluestripe Clownfish.

The Sebae Anemone (Heteractis crispa) is sometimes called a Leather Anemone. It belongs to the family named Stichodactylidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 10 inches in diameter, the Sebae Anemone is aggressive in nature and sensitive in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the rock structures. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Heteractis crispa in general should have extra bright (5+ watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include a moderate water current, a deep substrate, porous live rock, and rockwork structure.
