notes
One of the more peaceful Triggerfish. The Niger is actually a great addition to most aquariums. They may not be perfectly suited for a reef tank, but are usually harmless to corals. However, watch your invertebrates, they may disappear as the Niger grows larger.
overview

The Niger Triggerfish (Odonus niger) is sometimes called a Redtooth Triggerfish. It belongs to the family named Balistidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 12.0 inches in length, the Niger Triggerfish is generally passive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Odonus niger should not be housed in a tank less than 75 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra swimming area and plenty of hiding places.

My Niger blows sand everywhere and well just makes a mess. Hes so cool, he will laos spit water at you for his dinner. hes an asset to my tank but also a rebel. Not for the faint hearted. He is quite gentle but its clear when he dosnt like a new tank mate. Add him last!
