A small yet attractive goby, who not only is a nice addition to your tank but a benificial one as well. This little one will help control disease in the tank, as well as, its tankmates. This Goby is generally very passive, however in cramped environments it may be very territorial towards members of its own kind. |

The Neon Goby (Gobiosoma oceanops) belongs to the family named Gobiidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 2.0 inches in length, the Neon Goby is passive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the lower tank area. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is good and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Gobiosoma oceanops should not be housed in a tank less than 10 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places.
