The Midnight Angelfish is an easy one to identify. It is the only dwarf Angelfish that is solid black from head to tail. Keep only one unless in very large systems. As with other Angelfish, it will benefit from many hiding places and well establighed microalgae growth. |

The Midnight Angelfish (Centropyge nox) is sometimes called a Black Nox Angelfish. It belongs to the family named Pomacanthidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 3.7 inches in length, the Midnight Angelfish is semi-aggressive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the middle tank area. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Centropyge nox should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places.
