An attractive nuisance algae. This algae forms hard, dark spheres in grapelike clusters. It is recommened that you do not try to "pop" these in your aquarium if they show up. By popping just one, it can release thousands more. Remove the rock and scrap of with brush and rinse with saltwater. Emerald Crabs have also been known to consume it. |

The Green Bubble Algae (Ventricari ventricosa) belongs to the family named Valoniaceae. The Green Bubble Algae is passive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the rock structures. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is good and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Ventricari ventricosa in general should have standard (3 watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023.
