notes
Acropora Corals can add a great demension to your reef tank. However, it does take quite a bit of experience to insure survival. They need very strong lighting. Metal Halides are the most commonly used when caring for SPS Corals, although it is possible to keep Acropora with alot of Power Compacts and a high tank placement. Coloration of Acroporas can vary from specimen to specimen.
overview

The Green Acropora Coral (Acropora sp.) belongs to the family named Acroporidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 6 inches in diameter, the Green Acropora Coral is passive in nature and sensitive in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is good and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Acropora sp. in general should have extra bright (5+ watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include a well established aquarium, high water quality, a strong water current, a moderate water current, and a fluctuating water current.
