notes
One of the smaller Eels you will find in the trade. The name Ghost comes from its coloration, it is not meant to be an indication that it is rarely seen. In fact after it is acclimated it can be quite personable. Typically a nocturnal predator, however over time it will come out during the light hours and has even been known to eat for its owners hand. Do this with caution, it can bite.
overview

The Ghost Eel (Uropterygius concolor) belongs to the family named Muraenidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 20.1 inches in length, the Ghost Eel is semi-aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the evening hours or at night and less so during the day, and will hang out or do best in the rock structures. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Uropterygius concolor should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places.
