notes
The Garibaldi Damselfish is the largest out of 240 members of the Damselfish family. Some have misktaken the attractive juvenile as just another "small" colorful damselfish, later to find out that they have quite a large fish in their tank. Take care with these, they can be aggresive and territorial. They are best suited for very large systems where they have tankmates larger than themselves.
overview

The Garibaldi Damselfish (Hypsypops rubicundus) belongs to the family named Pomacentridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 12.5 inches in length, the Garibaldi Damselfish is aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is good and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Hypsypops rubicundus should not be housed in a tank less than 100 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra swimming area, plenty of hiding places, and a stable cave/sheltering ledge.
