A beautiful addition to most passive reef tanks. The Fourline Wrasse is much like its cousin, the Sixline Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia). They are typically shy, but they are always active hunters. They typically do best in well established aquariums where there is plenty of small crustacean growth and worms to feed on. Best kept as the only Wrasse in the tank, unless in very large systems. |

The Fourline Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia) belongs to the family named Labridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 2.7 inches in length, the Fourline Wrasse is generally passive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia should not be housed in a tank less than 20 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places and a well established aquarium.
