Some think the Elegance Coral is one of the most beautiful corals available in the trade. It can be senstive at times, however if it is given the right environment it can make a striking additon, especially under actinics, to your reef tank. Take care in placing this one, as its sweeper tentacles can damage neighboring corals. |

The Elegance Coral (Catalaphyllia jardinei) is sometimes called a Ridge Coral or a Wonder Coral. It belongs to the family named Caryophylliidae. The Elegance Coral is aggressive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Catalaphyllia jardinei in general should have extra bright (5+ watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include high water quality, a moderate water current, and a fluctuating water current.
