notes
Similar in fashion to its cousins, the Six and Four Line Wrasse, however this one is much more aggresive. It is best suited for a more aggressive environment, but it can be housed in some reef systems, if its tankmates are larger and aggressive as well. The eightline has been known to attack smaller fish and will eat ornamental shrimps and small urchins.
overview

The Eightline Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus octotaenia) belongs to the family named Labridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 5.4 inches in length, the Eightline Wrasse is aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Pseudocheilinus octotaenia should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include a well established aquarium and plenty of hiding places.
