The Chocolate Chip Sea Star (Protoreaster Nodosus) is sometimes called a Nodular Sea Star. It belongs to the family named Oreasteridae. Typically reaching a max size of about 12.0 inches in length, the Chocolate Chip Sea Star is passive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the evening hours or at night and less so during the day. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Protoreaster Nodosus should not be housed in a tank less than 20 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.4, temperature between 74 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.022 - 1.025.
