notes
One might think from the name of this fish that it is an Eel or perhaps a Blenny, however it is neither. It belongs to the Pseudochromid family or Dottybacks. This particular fish may be difficult to initiate feeding, but in time it can become an aggressive eater and a threat to small fish and crustaceans. Keep these fascinating one in an aggresive tank.
overview

The Carpet Eel Blenny (Congrogadus subducens) is sometimes called a Wolf Eel, an Eared Eel Blenny, or a Green Wolf Eel. It belongs to the family named Congrogadidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 18.0 inches in length, the Carpet Eel Blenny is aggressive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Congrogadus subducens should not be housed in a tank less than 55 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places.
