One of the more sensitive anemones in the trade. Clownfish will help its acclimation process tremendously. Use caution when first placing this anemone in your tank. Until it finds its spot, it can move around quite a bit and can serious damage to other invertebrates. Use caution handling this one as well, its sting can cause a severe reaction in some people. |

The Carpet Anemone (Stichodactyla haddoni) belongs to the family named Stichodactylidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 12 inches in diameter, the Carpet Anemone is aggressive in nature and sensitive in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the substrate. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Stichodactyla haddoni in general should have extra bright (5+ watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include high water quality, a moderate water current, a fluctuating water current, extra substrate area, a deep substrate, porous live rock, and rockwork structure.
