notes
A beautiful and hardy coral. The longevity of these corals makes it a good choice for the beginning reef aquariast, given that they provide it with enough light. Place far enough away from other corals, so it has room to extend its sweeper tentacles at night. Do not act as if this coral is completely self sufficient, supplement with invert filter foods.
overview

The Brain Maze Coral (Platygyra Sp.) is sometimes called a Brain Worm Coral, a Brain Coral, a Maze Coral, a Closed Brain Coral, or a Bowl Coral. It belongs to the family named Faviidae. The Brain Maze Coral is semi-aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Platygyra Sp. in general should have standard (3 watts/gallon) light to thrive. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include a moderate water current.
