notes
As with most Blennies, the Black Sailfin can become territorial towards other Blennies. Similar in behavior to some Jawfish and Gobies, however these Blennies do not create their own burrows. Instead, they simply find any hole they can fit into and feel safe. Must have a source of microalgae present in the aquarium to survive. Good for controling Hair Algaes.
overview

The Black Sailfin Blenny (Atrosalarias fuscus) is sometimes called a Black Blenny, a Dusky Blenny, a Brown Coral Blenny, a Black Coral Blenny, a Highfin Blenny, or a Brown Combtooth Blenny. It belongs to the family named Blenniidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 4.0 inches in length, the Black Sailfin Blenny is generally passive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out or do best in the rock structures. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Atrosalarias fuscus should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places and a well established aquarium.
