The Titan's name is appropriate being that it can reach upwards of 30 inches in the wild. The behavior of the Titan Triggerfish is unpredictable, but they typically have the reputation as highly aggressive. Typically this aggression is shown towards new tankmates, once the Titan has staked its claim on the tank. They are best suited for large tanks with larger aggressive fish. |

The Titan Triggerfish (Balistoides viridescens) belongs to the family named Balistidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 30.0 inches in length, the Titan Triggerfish is aggressive in nature and hardy in stamina. It's more active during the daytime and less at night, and will hang out across the entire tank. According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is unreported and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Balistoides viridescens should not be housed in a tank less than 140 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 8.1 - 8.3, temperature between 77 - 79 degrees fahrenheit, and a salinity between 1.020 - 1.023. Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include plenty of hiding places, extra swimming area, and a stable cave/sheltering ledge.
