   This is the black variation of the most common tropical fish available. The Black Angel will eat almost any food item you place in their tank. Angelfish are one of the most cross bred or mutated species on the market. There are several names assigned to similar specimen. Generally speaking, they tend to be named simply on their base color, but all are from the same line.

The Black Angel (Pterophyllum sp.) is sometimes called a Black Veil Angel. It belongs to the family named Cichlidae. Typically reaching a max size of about 7.4 inches in length, the Black Angel is semi-aggressive in nature and moderately hardy in stamina. . According to FishDB current data, captive breeding success is good after pairing up and there are no external signs of sexual differences. Pterophyllum sp. should not be housed in a tank less than 30 gallons in size. Tank parameters should be maintained with ph level between 5.8 - 7.0, temperature between 75 - 82 degrees fahrenheit, Some of the environmental concerns that you should strive to replicate in your home aquaria to promote succesful acclimation include extra swimming area and planted aquarium.
